Raphaelle and Gary Fieldhouse
Raphaelle has a background of art & craft, both in her training and in her family and childhood environment. She has always enjoyed painting but only discovered face and body painting in 1992 at the Garden Festival of Wales. From that moment she began teaching herself and is always trying to learn new things. She has qualifications in Art & Design, Make-up, Life Drawing, Wig Making, Dress Making and Hairdressing, all of which help her in her face and body paint designs.
Raphaelle & Gary work as a team in all aspects of their business Body Canvas. While Raphaelle does most of the creative design work on their murals, costumes and body paintings, Gary does the photography, entertaining, liaising, organising, problem solving and time keeping. They also work together teaching and lecturing all over the world, with public demonstrations, private classes and courses held in Wales, England, Scotland, Germany, Florida, California and Virginia.
They are currently in the process of creating a new studio based at their home in Wales, where they will be working on their own creative projects as well as offering private tuition.

On a personal note, Raphaelle is fiercely patriotic and is very proud to be a part of a Bodypainting Festival held in her own country. “It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to share such a great place with friends from all over the world. After this, body painters will know where Wales is and I should no longer need to draw little maps all the time!”
