A trained artist and science teacher, Cat discovered face painting when she was the Education Officer for a UK Zoo in 2002. She took it up again later, whilst managing a national nature reserve, as an alternative method of interesting children in wildlife. She became a full time professional within four years of being introduced to the addiction.
Her work now appears in international face-painting websites and magazines, winning critical acclaim and a few awards too. Cat writes for Facepaint UK and FACE Magazine and has been a featured artist in Brushstrokes Magazine. Cat loves painting squiggles and swirls but also enjoys more realistic animal face art – all while dressed as a fairy, of course!

After spotting it in the 90’s, whilst working in London’s Natural History Museum, Cat finally started body painting in 2007 and loves the bigger canvas!

Cat has been employed by Air Shows, Councils, Festivals, the Hong Kong Rugby 7's, P.R. Agencies, parties, and Zoos, from Africa and Hong Kong to Shanghai and the UK.
Her latest success was being named UK Face Painter of the Year at the 2007 Face Painting Convention, and she will be teaching in Face & Body Art Conventions during 2008.
She also makes fairy wings and replica sweetie jewellery and teaches Silver Clay and other crafts. After recently helping 20,000 Hong Kong school children to create Dream Catchers, she is now looking forward to slightly smaller classes at the Welsh Festival!
From Cat:
"I’m really looking forward to this event, especially as it will be the first time I have taught face painting at a national conference! I love interactive classes (even when I used to lecture in boring stuff, I tried to make it fun) and will be hoping you all join in and paint yourselves, or at least some paper faces. I don’t think we ever stop learning and my aim is to have everyone leave with at least a few new wee snippets of useful stuff. And I’m hoping I pick up some from you too!"
